Revolution
got a second season! This post-apocalyptic drama has already had one hell of a
ride. I’ll be honest when I first watched the show I was excited. Finally there
is a post-apocalyptic story that actually reverted to the dark ages. But as the
season went on I started wondering when they would start telling us what is
going on.
Most people I have talked to often say “oh but its
completely unrealistic, there would still be power.” Let’s be honest do you
really think even if the electricity hadn’t been mysteriously turned off, do
you really believe in a post-apocalyptic scenario, the power would stay turned
on? I’m pretty sure those guys aren’t hanging around to run the power plants.
Either way the idea was an interesting one. One day the
power mysteriously just turned off. All electricity everywhere disappeared. In
the classic Abrams style we have no idea how.
As the first season draws to a close we finally have been
let in on the secret. Spoiler Alert. Nanobots! That’s one hell
of a twist I didn’t see coming.
Abrams, as we know, is notorious for keeping secrets and
posing more questions. Even just in the trailers for his movies, how often does
he show you the scary creature behind the hero?
Some people have said to me after watching Revolution, oh
its just another Lost. While it certainly is in the same vein as Lost, in the
traditional Abrams way, but it certainly stands alone on television today. Despite
its long mid season hiatus, it is still holding strong and its renewal for a
second season proves that.
I expect we shall see far more surprise lurking in the dark.
War is brewing, secrets are seeing the light of day, and the past is coming
back to haunt them.
